Michelle Renee Walker admitted in a March 7 plea deal that she provided her firm’s general counsel with a fake document indicating that the Internal Revenue Service had lifted a levy on payments made to her by the partnership, according to federal prosecutors in Los Angeles. Court documents did not identify the law firm by name, but McGuireWoods confirmed that Walker was a partner from December 2005 until her resignation in April 2010.

“The conduct that she pleaded guilty to on Monday was inexcusable and intolerable,” said William Allcott, counsel at Richmond, Va.-based McGuireWoods, speaking on behalf of the firm. “And McGuireWoods cooperated fully with the U.S. attorney and the IRS in the investigation of the matter.”
