In a weekend congressional session, the U.S. House of Representatives approved, by voice vote, legislation opening the doors of the U.S. Supreme Court to certain petitions by military service members convicted of crimes. Under the "Equal Justice for our Military Act," service members would be allowed to file high court petitions when the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces denies review of their case.
