The U.S. Supreme Court appears likely to reverse a decision by Colorado’s top court disqualifying former President Donald Trump from the ballot as an insurrectionist following a highly anticipated hearing on Thursday.
The justices leaned heavily in Trump’s favor over the course of more than two hours of oral arguments in a case asking whether the former president is barred from returning to the White House over his role on Jan. 6, 2021, when a mob of his supporters breached the U.S. Capitol in an effort to stop the certification of President Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election.
