The Federal Trade Commission on Thursday sued U.S. Anesthesia Partners and its private equity founder, claiming they illegally consolidated and monopolized the anesthesiology market in Texas.
Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe created USAP in 2012 to pursue an “‘aggressive’ strategy to ‘consolidat[e] practices with high market share in a few key markets,’” stated the lawsuit filed in the federal district court in Houston.
