A District of Columbia federal judge on Friday tossed out a defamation suit filed by the presidential campaign of ex-President Donald Trump against the Washington Post.

“Not only has the Trump Campaign failed to plead sufficient factual allegations supporting an inference of actual malice, the context of the alleged defamatory statement suggests the absence of actual malice,” wrote U.S District Judge Rudolph Contreras of the defamation claims filed against the Post for a handful or articles Trump’s campaign argued were malicious and would force the campaign to spend money combatting in the public.
