The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday said it will hear the Biden administration’s appeal of a district court’s nationwide injunction blocking the Homeland Security Department’s immigration enforcement priorities.
The court, however, by a divided vote, refused to stay the injunction pending the outcome of the justices’ review of the challenge to the enforcement guidance brought by Texas and Louisiana. Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, Amy Coney Barrett and Ketanji Brown Jackson, in her first public vote, would have granted the administration’s request for a stay.
