The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday temporarily halted enforcement of a Texas law designed to stop “censorship” by large social media companies.

The court, with four justices dissenting, issued its order in the case, NetChoice v. Paxton, without comment. Justice Elena Kagan said she would deny NetChoice’s emergency application, but she did not write separately. Justice Samuel Alito, joined by Justices Clarence  Thomas and Neil Gorsuch, also would have denied the application.
