A federal jury in Pensacola handed a defense verdict to 3M on Friday in the latest trial over its dual-ended combat earplugs, just two weeks after separate juries in two other cases awarded nearly $58 million.

3M, represented by Kirkland & Ellis at this month’s trial, has now won six of the 14 bellwether trials in the multidistrict litigation over its earplugs, alleged to cause hearing loss and tinnitus, or ringing of the ears. All the bellwether trials have been in Florida, where juries in other trials have awarded more than $200 million to the plaintiffs, who are U.S. service members.
