Skepticism from lawmakers, pundits and some in the legal community of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s qualifications for the U.S. Supreme Court is hypocritical and representative of flawed arguments taken against affirmative action, federal appeals court Judge Joseph Greenaway Jr. said Monday.

During a talk as part of Seton Hall University Law School’s Diversity Speaks: Distinguished Speaker Series, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit judge knocked those who have suggested President Joe Biden put racial identity above qualifications when he fulfilled his campaign promise to nominate the first Black woman to the court by selecting Jackson.
