Conservative legal group Judicial Watch wants a federal appeals court to throw out sanctions levied against Sidney Powell and her legal team over a failed lawsuit that attempted to overturn the 2020 election results in Michigan.

The group’s attorney, Paul Orfenedes, on Monday asked to file a friend-of-the-court brief in support of Powell in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, where Powell is challenging the lower court’s order that she and other lawyers involved in the postelection lawsuit pay $175,000 in legal costs.
