Nearly all the claimants in the case seeking relief for sex abuse claims involving the Boy Scouts of America approved a proposed settlement plan Wednesday night, paving the way for Delaware’s bankruptcy court to give its OK.

A status report filed with the District of Delaware’s bankruptcy court confirmed attorneys with 32 law firms, including some that objected to the $2.7 billion settlement before negotiations were completed, have indicated they’ll be recommending their clients accept the plan, which was modified to address how settlement funds will be handled and put in place systems protecting future scouts from abuse.
