The Biden White House on Wednesday announced another round of judicial nominees, including a pick who would be the first Muslim woman to serve as a federal judge in the U.S.

The eight nominees include a range of backgrounds, from public defenders to Big Law and civil rights work. Among them is President Joe Biden’s first pick for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, Arianna Freeman, who would be the first woman of color and the first Black woman appointed to that court.
