The Commonwealth Court upheld an order from the State Board of Veterinary Medicine barring a chiropractor for animals from practicing without supervision of a veterinarian, but her attorneys say they intend to fight the decision.

In the 2-1 split decision, the majority held that the Board of Veterinary Medicine had the authority to discipline petitioner Maria McElwee for the unlicensed practice of veterinary medicine, but a dissenting Judge Patricia McCullough took issue with the interpretation that chiropractic could be considered medicine.
