Attorneys for Georgia are suing the Justice Department for records tied to its recent lawsuit over the state’s new voting law, suggesting the federal challenge is “a nakedly political action.”
The lawsuit, seeking a number of DOJ records and communications with dozens of outside entities, was filed Wednesday in D.C. federal court. Lawyers with the firm Schaerr Jaffe, Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr’s office and the law firm Taylor English Duma are behind the complaint.
