Two days after a lawsuit naming Yale Law School Dean Heather Gerken and other administrators was filed by two students alleging they were targeted for refusing to support a complaint against professor Amy Chua, Gerken sent an email to the law school community addressing a separate controversy—what has been dubbed the “trap house” incident.

“There are things the Law School administration should have done differently, and for that I take full responsibility,” Gerken wrote in her Nov. 17 message, referring to the law school’s response to an email Yale Law 2L Trent Colbert sent in mid-September to fellow members of the Native American Law Students Association.
