The U.S. Senate on Tuesday voted to confirm Jonathan Kanter, the former co-chair of the antitrust practice at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and a vocal critic of the market power of major technology companies, as head of the antitrust division at the U.S. Justice Department.

Kanter was confirmed by a bipartisan vote of 68 to 29, underscoring the rare agreement in Washington on the need for more vigorous antitrust enforcement.
