The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit on Thursday gave former President Donald Trump a brief respite in his legal fight over documents sought by a Jan. 6 select committee, delaying a Friday deadline for the transfer of the records and setting arguments in the case for the end of the month.

Judges Ketanji Brown Jackson, Patricia Millett and Robert Wilkins granted Trump’s request for an administrative injunction, noting that the purpose is to “protect the court’s jurisdiction to address appellant’s claims of executive privilege and should not be construed in any way as a ruling on the merits.” They set oral arguments in the case for Nov. 30, before the same panel.
