Federal prosecutors never extended a formal plea offer to Lev Parnas despite roughly nine months of “tentative” discussions, attorneys said Tuesday in a final court hearing before trial is scheduled to begin next week in Manhattan.

Parnas, a former associate of ex-New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, is set to go to trial on Oct. 12 on charges he and an accused co-defendant, Andrey Kukushkin, violated federal election laws by trying to funnel foreign money into U.S. elections in 2018.
