Covington & Burling’s securities enforcement chair David Kornblau has left his firm of 12 years to join Dentons in New York as Big Law continues to beef up its regulatory chops under President Joseph Biden’s administration.

Kornblau spent a decade in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a trial lawyer and chief litigation counsel. He first joined Covington in 2009 after leaving Merrill Lynch, where he was the head of global regulatory affairs. He represents companies and senior executives and other individuals who have come under scrutiny by his former agency, led by its new chair Gary Gensler.
