The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday added five cases to its new term’s argument docket, including an election law challenge involving Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz’s campaign, and a First Amendment fight over Boston’s refusal to fly a religious flag in front of City Hall.

The five cases have some familiar names on the new petitions and briefs in opposition, such as veteran advocates Charles Cooper of Cooper & Kirk; David Boies of Boies Schiller Flexner; Lisa Blatt of Williams & Connolly; and Melissa Arbus Sherry of Latham & Watkins.
