Nike Inc. has submitted a revised request of more than $856,000 in restitution from Michael Avenatti, a week after the disgraced attorney was sentenced to 30 months in prison for an attempted shakedown of the sports apparel giant.
In a court filing Wednesday, Nike and its Boies Schiller Flexner attorneys said the company had trimmed its initial application for more than $1 million in an attempt to avoid drawn-out litigation on the matter, removing all redacted entries, as well as a request for $235,000 for press and media relations in response to Avenatti’s attacks on the firm.
