Methodology: The Women's Scorecard is produced as part of the annual NLJ 500 firm head count report. Data on gender diversity at firms is collected at the same time as when firms report financial numbers and head counts to ALM. Only the largest 350 firms are eligible for the Women's Scorecard.
Diversity staffing counts are based on a firm's average FTE attorneys in 2020. We do not include contract or temporary attorneys.
The data in this survey is self-reported and previously unpublished. Not all firms in the NLJ 500 provide gender statistics to ALM. Some firms cannot count gender in average FTE terms, which explains why they may be missing from this scorecard.
