Attorneys for Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and secretary of state Brad Raffensperger are asking a federal judge in Texas to toss a specious lawsuit seeking to overturn the 2020 election lawsuits, saying the complaint “is perhaps one of the most frivolous yet” of those filed in the wake of the Nov. 3 election.

The lawsuit was filed in January by attorneys on behalf of a pair of groups called Latinos for Trump and Blacks for Trump, as well as several individuals. One of the lawyers on the suit, Paul Davis, was an in-house attorney who was fired after he was seen on the U.S. Capitol grounds Jan. 6 as the building was breached; he has since filed a motion to withdraw from the case, saying several of the plaintiffs have fired him.
