Crowell & Moring said it’s bringing on board Michael Atkinson, the former inspector general of the U.S. Intelligence Community who handled a whistleblower complaint that later became the basis for a Trump impeachment inquiry.

Atkinson joined Crowell in Washington, D.C., this week as a partner in white-collar defense, internal investigations and civil litigation. He will co-lead Crowell’s national security practice with Paul Rosen and Adelicia Cliffe. The practice advises clients on transactions under review by the federal government, export control matters, national security and False Claims Act investigations, as well as internal investigations.
