A Department of Justice official on Thursday swiftly retracted guidance that blocked agency employees from holding events on diversity and inclusion, one day after President Joe Biden reversed President Donald Trump’s order against such trainings.

Among the flurry of executive orders Biden signed his first day in office was one aimed at supporting underrepresented groups in the federal government, which undid the Trump order blocking trainings that suggested prejudice existed within the federal government. The new order gives federal agencies 60 days to “consider suspending, revising, or rescinding any such actions, including all agency actions to terminate or restrict contracts or grants” tied to the Trump action.
