An attorney for President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign has asked a federal judge to remove him from an election dispute in Pennsylvania, saying “the client has used the lawyer’s services to perpetrate a crime.”

The filing comes the day after a mob of Trump supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol building in a fury widely seen as having been incited by the president. In the wake of the attack, in which four people were killed, numerous leaders in the national legal community called for Trump’s removal, and both the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia bar associations issued statements condemning the violence.
