After President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell oversaw a reshaping of the federal judiciary over the past four years, liberal judicial groups are rolling up their sleeves to help President-elect Joe Biden get Democratic-appointed judges on the bench.
While the Federalist Society played an outsize role in the Trump administration’s selection of judicial nominees, no one liberal group is the catch-all for judges on the left. Multiple organizations have already provided the Biden transition team with lists of potential nominees for any of the remaining judicial vacancies, and seats that could open in the future.
