A year ago, Kramer Levin’s Barry Berke stood on the House floor as lawmakers voted to impeach President Donald Trump. Now, the former special counsel to the House Judiciary Committee says he’s happy to be back in private practice in New York.

But Berke hasn’t given up his work when it comes to Trump, advising Pennsylvania officials as the Trump campaign and other conservatives targeted the state over the November election. And he says that, since the end of the Senate impeachment trial, he’s seen Trump continue with the same pattern of behavior he was scrutinized for in the Ukraine-focused inquiry: Putting his own personal interests above those of the country.
