The first all-virtual jury trial in the nation ended Thursday with a $2.5 million award to a man who said asbestos exposure caused his mesothelioma.
The verdict, which is the second to follow a virtual asbestos trial, comes after five days of deliberations by a jury in Alameda County Superior Court. A jury in the same court came out with a defense verdict in a separate case Sept. 3.
