A group of 10 former federal judges on Tuesday urged the Senate and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, not to confirm a new U.S. Supreme Court justice before the 2020 presidential election is settled, saying the move would undermine public trust in the court.
In a letter signed by appointees of both Democratic and Republican presidents, the judges warned that the Supreme Court confirmation process had become “dangerously politicized,” as Americans prepare to vote amid a global pandemic and deep divisions.
