Squire Patton Boggs has hired corporate partner Anthony Chan in Hong Kong from Stephenson Harwood.

Hong Kong-qualified Chan advises on initial public offerings and capital markets matters, mergers and acquisitions as well as equity and debt financing transactions. Last year, he advised BOCOM International Holdings Co. Ltd. as the sole sponsor on a $23 million Hong Kong listing of Singapore-based construction company HPC Holdings Ltd.

Chan made partner in 2016, during Stephenson Harwood’s largest-ever promotion round.

With the appointment of Chan, the U.S. firm now has 21 lawyers in Hong Kong, including nine partners. Elsewhere in Asia, Squire Patton Boggs last year recruited corporate partner Mörk Murdock in Tokyo from Davis Polk & Wardwell and launched a public policy practice in China with the hire of Yan Xuan, the former Greater China president for market research firm The Nielsen Co. LLC.
