E-discovery may have made its first inroads in the business community, but government agencies are increasingly relying on industry technology for document analysis and management. Recent government contracts secured by the likes of OpenText, CasePoint and CompleteDiscovery shows an increasing interest from the public sector.

Haresh Bhungalia, CEO at Casepoint, previously told LTN that the interest partially stems from a need to keep up with technology: “Where in the past [government agencies] might do internal investigations using Outlook or turning everything into a PDF and reviewing items manually, now they are realizing that it is efficient to leverage an e-discovery platform because it will be beneficial in terms of driving efficiency and quality output.”
