Bond, Schoeneck & King announced that Bryan C. Smith, an intellectual property attorney, has joined the firm in its Rochester, New York, office as senior counsel. Prior to joining Bond, Smith was an IP attorney with Troutman Pepper in Rochester. Smith is a registered patent attorney with a degree in physics whose practice includes managing patent portfolios as well as intellectual property litigation. Smith has experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications, including re-issue applications, focusing on optical technologies, electrical components, mobile and smart phone applications, imaging devices and mechanical systems.

Wiggin and Dana announced Jan. 13 the creation of a C-level leadership role fully dedicated to addressing diversity, equity and inclusion, and the promotion of Jana Simon to that role. Simon joined Wiggin and Dana in March 2021 from Jackson Lewis, where she served as the firm’s first director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Her experience includes leading metrics-driven recruitment, retention and talent development success, with an emphasis on traditionally underrepresented populations.
