William Crum McKinney, the former general counsel to the Governor of North Carolina for nearly five years and special counsel to the state’s attorney general, has rejoined Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd as a shareholder in the firm’s Greenville and Raleigh offices in North Carolina. He will be a member of the firm’s state and local government, economic development and business litigation practice groups. McKinney was previously an associate at Haynsworth for about two years before his government posts.
Drew Eckl & Farnham has brought on partners James Painter and Robin Daitch as the firm opens an office in Augusta, Ga. Both Painter and Daitch practice in the area of general civil litigation with an emphasis on medical malpractice defense, representing hospitals, physicians, nursing homes and other businesses. The new location is the fourth in the state for the Atlanta-based firm, which focuses on litigation and strategic corporate and transactional counsel.
