Paul F. Woody, a certified franchise executive, joined Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale in St. Louis as counsel, according to an announcement from the firm. Woody will work in the firm’s franchising and distribution and business services groups, and will help franchisors comply with federal and state laws and avoid disputes. According to LinkedIn, he previously served as general counsel for the American Poolplayers Association.

Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs announced that it brought on Matthew R. Palmer-Ball as a partner in its litigation and dispute resolution service team. He will be based in in the firm’s Louisville, Kentucky, office and will handle cases related to complex commercial litigation, white-collar crime, and internal and government investigations. Palmer-Ball comes to the firm from Washington, D.C., where he was a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s public integrity section and an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.
