Dracut, Massachusetts, Police Chief Peter Bartlett filed a complaint with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination after the town of Dracut did not allow him to return to work from time he took off to recover from an injury. Bartlett claimed that the town manager failed to give him return-to-work date from being on injured reserve after Bartlett slipped and injured himself while on duty and that he was then placed on administrative leave. Burns & Levinson is representing the police chief in the case, according to The Sun.

The Texas-based Travis County Healthcare District, doing business as Central Health, recently reached a settlement with an employee who was fired in 2019 over allegations that he sexually harassed a female member of Central Health’s board of managers. The fired employee, who is Black, claimed that his termination was due to racial discrimination and retaliation for his earlier filing of internal and EEOC complaints while he was working at Central Health. Under the representation of Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, Central Health reached a $99,316 settlement with the plaintiff, according to The Austin Bulldog.
