Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr is working with Perkins Coie to defend Amazon in a products liability suit in the Texas Supreme Court. Amazon is arguing that it is not liable for an injury a toddler allegedly sustained from ingesting a battery that did not comply with industry safety standards. According to Bloomberg Law, the plaintiff, the toddler’s mother, says Amazon’s arrangement to sell third-party products makes the company liable for damages caused by those products.

The Ross School in East Hampton, New York, and several of the school’s administrators and teachers, are facing a lawsuit after several of the school’s teachers allegedly encouraged students to drink alcohol while on a school trip, reports Patch. The plaintiffs, a student who had been on the trip and the student’s father, say the teachers also verbally abused the students, who were all minors. The plaintiffs, represented by Becker & Poliakoff, filed suit in Suffolk County Supreme Court, alleging negligence in hiring, breach of the school’s handbook, and breach of trust, among other causes of action.
