A number of midsize firms have long and storied histories, stretching back a century or more, and yet they still get to celebrate some firsts now and then. Recently, for three midsize firms, that meant welcoming their first female law firm leader.

Some might read that last sentence and think it’s unremarkable. Women have been rising in the ranks of law firms for years, and as we’ve noted in The Mid-Market Report before, midsize law firms in particular have elected a number of women to top leadership spots over the past few years.
