Associates have had a rough time during the pandemic, something we’re noted before in this column. In particular, they’ve lost out on work to partners and their development has slowed. Talent development is the one of the biggest concerns for law firm leaders, but under the circumstances, what can they do?
The cynical response would be: “Just throw money at them.” And some firms were certainly quick to issue associate bonuses during COVID-19, even when many firms were financially distressed.
