Eight months after firms rushed to apply to the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) in April, midsize law firm leaders say the funding allowed them to support their workforce amid the pandemic while adapting to the remote working environment.
But some firms found themselves laying off support staff and attorneys anyway, as the shift to remote work fundamentally changed the structure of many midsize firms.
