Lawrence Lustberg, a Newark, New Jersey-based attorney with Gibbons, is representing Sean Washington, who was convicted alongside Kevin Baker for a double murder and jailed in 1996, NorthJersey.com reports. With the assistance of the Last Resort Exoneration Project, the two men are getting new trials for the crime, for which they say they were wrongly convicted. Upon reviewing the original murder trial, the court determined that certain evidence that was not presented at the time would have likely changed the jury’s verdict.
