The Long Beach, California, City Attorney’s Office commissioned Best Best and Krieger to look into the income and city council votes of Long Beach City Councilwoman Jeannine Pearce, the Press-Telegram reports. The investigation found that Pearce did not disclose $11,222 of income in 2018 and $30,000 in 2019 from two different businesses owned by one person. The report suggested Pearce recuse herself for 12 months from voting on any issues that may impact the businesses from which she received money.
