There’s lots of talk about big data; but, most law firms don’t even capture “small data.” What do I mean by that? Well, if you think of “big data” as the collective dataset across law firms, or types of law firms, then you may consider “small data” to be the internal data that your law firm maintains about its own clients and processes. Once you have data, you can figure out how to leverage it. Then you can make decisions about which data, and which KPIs that draw that data out, are valuable, and which are not.
