Actor Johnny Depp is accusing his ex-wife Amber Heard of abusing him during their marriage and defaming him by falsely accusing him of abusing her. According to Courthouse News Service, Benjamin Chew of Brown Rudnick‘s Washington, D.C., office is representing Depp as he sues Heard, in response to her op-ed in The Washington Post about her experience speaking out about domestic abuse. Depp claims that he not abuse her, and that she had been violent toward him during their marriage.

The City of Newark, New Jersey, updated its contract with Beveridge & Diamond to continue being represented by the firm, which is defending the city against the Natural Resources Defense Council. NRDC and Newark have been engaged in a lawsuit since October 2018 over the city’s response to high lead levels. According to Tap Into Newark, NRDC filed injunctions asking for the city to provide resources such as bottled water and water filters to city residents while more long-term solutions are being enacted. The city says that doing so would be too expensive and it is already taking appropriate measures to address the lead problem.
