Equifax’s outside counsel at King & Spalding are asking the federal Judicial Panel on Multi-District Litigation to consolidate hundreds of cases in U.S. District Court in Atlanta that were filed against the Georgia-based credit bureau following a massive data breach.

The King & Spalding team—led by Phyllis Sumner, the firm’s chief privacy officer and head of data security and privacy practice—suggested that U.S. District Judge William S. Duffey Jr. be assigned to handle the litigation. The team also includes partners David Balser, Stewart Haskins and Zachary McEntyre.
