A federal judge on Wednesday threw out a big chunk of Samsung Display Co.’s lawsuit against Acacia Research Corporation, which the Korean LCD giant accuses of reneging on a deal not to sue its customers for patent infringement.

U.S. District Judge J. Paul Oetken in Manhattan allowed Samsung’s core breach of contract claims to move forward, however, handing a partial win to the company’s lawyers at Baker Botts. (Read the decision here.)
