Big wins are often sweeter when you come from behind.
Our Litigators of the Week are Beth Wilkinson, Brian Stekloff and Rakesh Kilaru of Wilkinson Stekloff and John Playforth of Covington & Burling. On Aug. 1, they secured a ruling from U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez in Los Angeles, knocking out a $4.7 billion jury verdict against the National Football League in antitrust litigation alleging the league conspired to inflate the price of DirecTV’s “Sunday Ticket” package. The judge excluded the plaintiffs’ experts and knocked out the jury’s damages calculation.
