It’s been nearly impossible to avoid the back-and-forth over the letter Morgan Stanley’s top lawyer sent out the week before last urging law firms that do work for the bank to get back to in-office work.

“I strongly believe that firms that return to the office will have a significant performance advantage over those that do not, and we will see that advantage reflected in their client service and the ability to deliver successful outcomes for Morgan Stanley,” wrote the bank’s CLO, Eric Grossman.
