U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon, who guided the Manhattan federal court through the COVID-19 pandemic, will step down as chief judge of the Southern District of New York and take senior status on April 10, the district executive’s office confirmed Thursday.
She is set to be succeeded as chief judge by U.S. District Judge Laura Taylor Swain.
