When the world shut down six months ago, most litigation ground to a halt. The one exception—depositions. While judges and arbitrators were pushing trial dates, many held fast to discovery deadlines. As a result, litigators started scrambling to conduct depositions remotely.

Remote depositions are not a new thing. In the past, however, only one or two participants were remote while the court reporter and videographer remained in the same room as the witness. But now, all (or nearly all) of the participants are in different locations.
